Disabled access from Bride Lane is over a threshold stone with a riser height ranging from 110mm to 150mm right to left. Ramps available on request. Access from the threshold to the auditorium is via a stairlift (230kg weight load) and to the theatre bar and lavatories via a platform lift (340kg weight load).
Access for disabled people
St Bride Institute is a listed building and while we have provided wheelchair access wherever possible there is restricted access to certain areas available for hire. Hirers are therefore reminded of their duties as service providers under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and forthcoming Equality Act 2010 and must satisfy themselves that the facilities offered meet the needs of their potential building users and that their services do not unreasonably discriminate against disabled people.
The Institute cannot accept any responsibility or liability on behalf of the hirer for any failure or inequality which may lead to an action under such legislation. Hirers may also need to amend management practices, provide staff training in disability equality and awareness and create printed and electronic information in accessible formats. Please do telephone in advance to discuss access requirements.
